How is this related to totalitarianism?

in literature, we're reading the book 1984. we had to write a paper, and were told we would get extra credit if we took a picture of us standing in front of some building, museum, monument etc. the place has to somehow relate to totalitarianism. i took a picture in front of the fort in st.augustine in florida. do you know how this relates? im completely stumped.
